Frequently Asked Questions

Why does G&W emphasize “in-house labor” so much?

While there might be circumstances where hiring a third-party installer, which is usually two guys and a truck,  we prefer more control over the process and the outcome from a quality, safety and timing standpoint.

We do not want to be brokers of other companies’ services unless necessary. Plus, it has been our experience that in-house labor is less expensive and less costly to manage.

Why do you provide painting? Isn’t that unusual for a flooring contractor?

Over the years our clients frequently were refreshing their office with new carpet and new paint. Coordinating the two scopes of work was challenging without the added cost of a general contractor.

When the painters and the flooring installers are working as a team, like a well-choreographed dance, things go faster and smoother. Plus, there is no finger pointing.

Can our flooring be removed and replaced without shutting down my business?

Yes, our crews work nights and weekends. Our services include furniture moving, demolition of existing flooring, floor prep and replacement.

As an example, if  new carpet tile is being installed, we can replace about 1800 SF per night and have you ready to conduct business in that area the next morning.

Do we have to dismantle existing systems furniture?

No, that’s even easier, as we have special tools to lift the cubicles in place. No need to even disconnect voice/data.

Can you remove and replace a surgical operating room in one weekend?

We do it all the time and it is routine for us. We start on Friday evening once the room is available. We complete by 3 pm on Sunday.

We have multiple specialized crews around the clock for the duration. At that time, it is available for terminal clean by your staff. We can do more than one OR by having multiple crews on the project.

Can old floors be refurbished instead of replaced?

Yes. A survey of the existing floor will be required to determine the best course of action. G&W Commercial Interiors has refurbished many commercial floors saving customers thousands on replacement costs.

Can anyone maintain floor surfaces?

Only trained and certified installation and service companies can preserve the long-term look and protect your installation investment.

What are your installation warranties?

Industry standard is 1 year. We offer 5 years.

Who are certified installers?

Manufacturers certify installation and maintenance companies. G&W Commercial Interiors has a number of manufacturer certifications for various floor surfaces. Our technicians are drug tested and background checked.

Are your installers union?

We are not.

Are your  prices competitive?

As one of the NW’s largest flooring contractors our volume-based buying power is as good as others if not better. Given our volume we know what “competitive” pricing looks like or we wouldn’t be where we are.

Everyone says they are great. Do you supply references?

Since our founding in 2000, we have provided many years of service to our clients. We are happy to provide recent references for any type of project.
